Why foam cornices

High-density EPS with a density of 1–2 lbs per cubic foot is cut on CNC hot-wire machines into almost any profile, from layered classical forms to clean minimalist lines. A polyurea hard coat gives a stucco cornice finish that holds up to sun, rain and temperature swings. Light pieces are easier to lift, align and fix than plaster or stone, which shortens installation and reduces the load on the wall.

Choosing a cornice design

Start with the building style and the available projection. A modillion cornice suits traditional and Mediterranean façades, while a plain stepped profile works for modern buildings. Smaller exterior window cornice and foam cornice boards for windows can echo the main profile so the whole elevation reads as one composition. Each exterior cornice molding is supplied with drawings and installation guidance. For a developer, that means fewer surprises on site: the profile is approved on paper, produced to size and delivered ready to mount. Foam also works as a practical replacement for stucco cornice work that would otherwise require scaffolding time and skilled plasterers, and it can be combined with window trim and surrounds from the same catalog for a consistent façade.
