A pediment crowns a door or window and gives the entrance its sense of importance. Decorative Architectural Shapes manufactures exterior pediments in the shapes and sizes your project needs, without the weight of stone.

Types of pediments

The classic forms come from Greek and Roman architecture. A triangular pediment is the traditional gable-shaped crown. A segmental pediment uses a shallow arc and feels softer and more refined. Broken and scroll designs add drama, while a flat crosshead gives a simple, restrained header. We produce each as a decorative pediment, sized as an exterior door pediment, as window pediments, or as a large gable feature over a portico.

Why foam pediments

Each piece is CNC-cut from high-density EPS and covered with a polyurea hard coat that resists moisture, UV and cracking. The light weight simplifies lifting and fixing to the wall, and the profile can follow your drawings rather than a catalog, which helps when door pediment styles must match existing trim. Pediments pair naturally with pilasters, columns and window surrounds from our catalog. Crossheads above windows can echo the main entrance pediment, so the style repeats around the building. Because the elements are light, a large triangular pediment for a portico or a Greek-style temple front can be lifted into place by a small crew without heavy equipment, which shortens the schedule and reduces the load on the wall. All products are covered by a 20-year warranty.

Exterior window pediments and window and door pediments finish an opening and draw the eye upward. Front door pediments can be triangular, segmental or broken, a custom pediment can be drawn to your width, and interior door pediments follow the same proportions.

Ordering

Share the opening width, wall photos, preferred style and finish. We confirm the proportions with a drawing, fabricate the pediment and deliver it ready to install. Tell us whether it is for a new build or a renovation, so we can match the existing trim, color and architectural style, and note any HOA requirements for the entrance.

How it works

1. Brief: send opening size, wall photos and style references.
2. Design: we draw the pediment and confirm proportions and finish.
