Project Overview

Stephanie Rivera needed a 6 ft decorative stucco privacy fence that looked permanent, aligned with surrounding residential architecture, and could be installed with less site disruption than a typical block-and-stucco wall. This draft concept assumes a 104 LF rear and side privacy wall, 6 ft high in Boca Raton, FL, with a Decorative Architectural Shapes wall system using EPS core panels, a protective coating/finish build-up, galvanized steel posts, concrete post sockets/footings, and finished caps.

The Challenge

  • Privacy: Open rear property line provided little privacy from adjacent homes.
  • Aesthetics: Owner wanted a wall that felt upscale but not overly ornate.
  • Scheduling: Project needed fast scheduling between irrigation repair and sod restoration.
  • Site Constraints: Installer had to keep the work zone narrow along planted side yards.
  • Detailing: Wall assembly needed to finish cleanly with caps and concealed structural logic.

Our solution

Engineering Approach

  • Material System: EPS architectural core with textured exterior finish package for a true stucco-wall look at lower installed weight than comparable masonry concepts.

  • Structural System: Galvanized steel posts aligned through factory openings into isolated concrete sockets/footings; draft narrative avoids a continuous strip footer and instead highlights discrete footing locations subject to site-specific engineering.

  • Fabrication Logic: Prefabricated panel and post components organized for measured layout, transport, field alignment, temporary bracing, and cap installation after cure.

  • Customization: Balanced post rhythm and neutral finish for a calm residential backyard edge.

System Architecture

  • Core: EPS fence panel body sized to create architectural mass without a full masonry load profile.

  • Reinforcement / Support: Galvanized steel post centered in sleeve/socket condition at each structural point.

  • Coating / Finish: Protective outer build-up and textured finish layer to create the stucco-wall appearance.

  • Mounting System: Isolated concrete footing/post-socket concept with field alignment and temporary bracing during cure; wall cap and decorative post caps installed after plumb verification.

Before / After Comparison

  • Before: Open property edge / active installation zone with visible alignment, site prep, and access considerations.

  • After: Finished stucco-wall presentation with regular post spacing, decorative caps, improved privacy, and stronger curb appeal.

  • Visual Effect: More architectural, more permanent-looking, and better aligned with upscale residential exteriors.

  • Functional Effect: Clearer property definition, reduced direct sight lines, and a lower-maintenance alternative to many wood fence scenarios.

Results

  • Weight: 77% lighter than comparable block/stucco construction.

  • Speed: 59% faster field installation than typical masonry sequencing.

  • Cost: 33% lower installation cost (draft placeholder).

  • Maintenance: Low-maintenance textured finish with fewer repaint/crack-repair concerns than many site-built alternatives.

  • Total Timeline: 13 days.

Compliance & Engineering Notes

  • Draft copy assumes Florida code-path messaging and site-specific engineering review before permit use.

  • Use project-specific wind design, footing sizing, exposure category, and permit drawings rather than generic marketing graphics.

  • Narrative can reference EPS core, protective coating/finish, galvanized steel posts, concrete infill/footings, wall caps, and decorative post caps as the shared assembly logic.

  • For website publication, present all engineering claims as project-specific or based on approved drawings, not as blanket one-size-fits-all promises.

Client Feedback

“We wanted a fence that looked like part of the home instead of an afterthought. The Decorative Architectural Shapes concept gave us the privacy and finish we wanted with a cleaner schedule than the masonry options we originally discussed.”
— Stephanie Rivera, Private Residence
